Essential Fatty Acids
Normally I would eliminate the EFA's at this time and suggest taking MCT oil. Medium-Chain-Triglyceride, or, MCT oil is an excellent option at a time when fat intake should be very low to non-existent. MCT will serve as an alternative fuel or energy source as well as "tricking" the body into believing it is receiving a "fat serve", further allowing for continued body fat metabolism. Start with 3 capfuls spread over the day working up to 6 capfuls if required.
Vitamin C
Perhaps a surprise addition but one that has been completely over looked by many individuals. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant therefore improving immune function and overall recovery from intense training. Vitamin C will also help eliminate harmful toxins & by-products such as ammonia & uric acids that may accumulate in the body from high protein consumption, these by-products all play a role in retarding recovery so Vitamin C intake makes sense. Vitamin C also appears to "dry out" the body, causing the skin to lose water & appear tighter & thinner, this cosmetic look is obviously highly desirable when standing up on stage. Choose a "buffered" or "ester C" as it is easier in regards to digestion and start with 1500mg split over day. |
